Honoring the Life of Composer Alfred H. Bartles: A Tribute Concert

4:00 p.m., Steve & Judy Turner Recital Hall

Join Blair faculty, students and guest artists as they perform the works of Alfred H. Bartles, in celebration of the unveiling of the Wilson Music Library’s collection of his papers and manuscripts on what would have been his 85th birthday. Bartles was a composer, arranger, cellist and jazz pianist with strong ties to Nashville and to the Blair School of Music. He belonged to the first generation of crossover musicians who felt themselves equally at home in the classical and jazz disciplines.

A reception in Turner Lobby will follow the concert.

Presented jointly by the Heard Libraries and the Blair School of Music
