“Conflicted” might describe the feelings of many responsible parents about screen media. On the one hand, news stories and public policy organizations often make parents feel guilty for allowing their children to watch TV and use touchscreen devices. On the other hand, children beg to play with their parents’ smartphones and iPads. What’s a parent to do? How concerned should we be about screen media? Join the conversation to find out what we know from research about toddler to elementary-age children and screens.
We'll meet on Thursday, May 1 at 11:30 in room 109 of the Student Life Center for this great discussion with Georgene Troseth, Associate Professor of Psychology in the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center. Feel free to bring your lunch and a friend!
