Arjun SethiIn the wake of the 2016 presidential election, Arjun Singh Sethi traveled the country and met with a diversity of people and documented the hate they experienced during the campaign and after inauguration. In American Hate: Survivors Speak Out, an NPR Best Book of 2018, survivors tell their stories in their own words and describe how the rhetoric and policies of the Trump administration have intensified bullying, discrimination, and even violence toward them and their communities. In this talk, Sethi will discuss his work with survivors and how they remain hopeful and resilient despite it all. Co-sponsored by Office for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and the Provost's Office for Inclusive Excellence. Lunch provided.
