Please join the Alyne Queener Massey Law Library for a special lunch hour discussion with David Lat of Above the Law. Above the Law is a website that takes a behind-the-scenes look at the world of law. The website provides news and insights about the profession’s most colorful personalities and powerful institutions, as well as original commentary on breaking legal developments.

David Lat is editor at large and founding editor of Above the Law. His writing has also appeared in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and the Washington Post, among other publications. Prior to Above the Law, he launched Underneath Their Robes, a blog about federal judges. Before entering the media world, David worked as a federal prosecutor in Newark, New Jersey; a litigation associate at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, in New York; and a law clerk to Judge Diarmuid F. O'Scannlain of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. David graduated from Harvard College, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and Yale Law School, where he served as book reviews editor of the Yale Law Journal. He has received several awards for his work on Above the Law, including recognition as an ABA Journal Legal Rebel, a group of innovators within the legal profession, and inclusion as a member of the Fastcase50, “the fifty most interesting, provocative, and courageous leaders in the world of law, scholarship, and legal technology.”

This event should be of special interest to undergraduate and professional students who are contemplating attending law school in the future. Lunch will be served.
