"Reducing Carbon Emissions in a Competitive Marketplace," a talk by Matthew Zaragoza-Watkins, Assistant Professor of Economics at Vanderbilt University Professor Zaragoza-Watkins will speak about his work with companies to reduce carbon emissions and about how different energy sources impact markets. Professor Zaragoza-Watkins studies the intersection of industrial organization, energy and the environment. His research explores the design and performance of economy-wide and sector-specific environmental policies. Applying econometric techniques from labor economics to test theory from industrial organization and consumer behavior, his work provides new evidence on the nature of firms’ and households’ responses to regulation, often shedding light on the unanticipated consequences of existing policy.
This event is free and open to the public. Lunch will be served. Sponsored by the Energy and Environmental Law Society.
