Steve & Judy Turner Recital Hall
Amy Jarman, soprano
with Leslie Norton, horn, and Melissa Rose, piano
“To everything there is a season…”
This recital explores the physical and emotional landscape of the four seasons, featuring 19th-century German lied and French mélodie by the composers who made these genres an indelible part of the vocal literature, including Franz Schubert, Robert and Clara Schumann, Johannes Brahms, Gabriel Fauré, Claude Debussy, Ernest Chausson and Cecile Chaminade. Highlighting the colors and moods of the seasons is American composer Gina Gillie’s To the Seasons for soprano, French horn and piano. This evocative chamber work is a setting of four poems, one for each season, by English visionary poet of the Romantic era William Blake.
This event is free and open to the public. Parking is available in the West Garage (2500 Children's Way) free of charge.
