Crafting with Kesem

Thursday, March 15, 2018,

  • Location: Sarratt Promenade

Come join us at Camp Kesem's spring service and fundraising event! Camp Kesem at Vanderbilt is a local chapter of a national non-profit that provides a free week of camp for children in Tennessee affected by a parent's cancer. One of the most meaningful events at camp is creating a support tree. This tree consists of leaves and flowers that campers and counselors decorate in honor of loved ones who have cancer or who lost a battle with cancer. This event is part of Empowerment Day at camp, where we honor the support network created at camp.

Camp Kesem is a resource for children, and we also love and support our peers at Vanderbilt who have loved ones affected by cancer. We'd love to see you at our event! Stop by New Rand from 11-1 on Thursday, March 15 to help us cut leaves and flowers to use at camp, and decorate some of your own! Our counselors will be there to tell you all about the magic of Kesem, and we'll have Bar Taco and t-shirts available for a suggested donation. See you there!
