NATIVe and VAISES in conjunction with Warren and Moore Colleges are proud to present a lecture by Rebecca Jim, founder of L.E.A.D. (Local Environmental Action Demanded). She is a Native American environmental advocate and activist. For over two decades, she has worked in northeastern Oklahoma to promote a better understanding of the environmental hazards surrounding the Tar Creek Superfund site. Working closely with tribal leaders, the EPA, and other activists such as Lois Gibbs, Rebecca Jim hopes to inspire the next generation to protect the environment, and fights day in and day out for clean water, air, and soil in her community.
