Silenced Voices

The daughter of Holocaust survivors, violinist Sylvia Samis, Assistant Concertmaster Emerita of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, will present a program featuring music that was written in the concentration camps and ghettos. These melodies will be performed while words are spoken that were written by Samis’ mother, Sabina Rosenzweig, revealing her terrifying experiences in Auschwitz and other camps. In this way, the voices silenced by the war, those of the victims, the composers and the instruments, will now be heard again. Samis will be joined by her son, cellist Michael Samis, pianist Amy Dorfman, and others in a special commemoration of the “Silenced Voices.”

This event is free and open to the public. Parking for this event is available for free in West Garage (2500 Children's Way) through the Children's Way entrance
