The National Health Care for the Homeless Council (NHCHC) is a national organization that raises awareness and provides education on the crisis of homelessness and how it intersects with health. This presentation will provide an introduction to who the NHCHC is, their work, and the resources they provide. In addition the presenters will give an overview of the current state of homelessness across the nation and its impact on the lives of individuals experiencing homelessness. They will also highlight the competencies and value our Health Care for the Homeless Health Centers bring to combat the issue of homelessness and share the model our health centers use for services. The NHCHC aims to aim to: 1) increase access to care 2) Improve health outcomes and 3) Promote health equity.
