Executive Function: Development and Relevance for Education.

Our understanding of the development of executive function has greatly increased due to better definition and measurement of the construct as well as due to neuroimaging techniques for young children. After describing some of these recent innovations, I will discuss the role of executive function in school readiness and achievement, as well as the process of learning itself.
