The Vanderbilt Enabling Innovation Initiative (el2) presents Julia Polk (IQuity CFO) and Chase Spurlock (CEO): "Bridging the Gap: Translating Scientific Discoveries into Commercial Ventures"

Chase Spurlock, PhD

Dr. Spurlock is Founder and CEO of IQuity. As CEO, he has day-to-day oversight of all aspects of the company ensuring the vision and mission are realized. Through his past research and experience growing IQuity, Dr. Spurlock is committed to developing machine learning applications in healthcare that are capable of delivering accurate clinical insights to speed diagnosis and treatment decisions. Dr. Spurlock is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of The University of the South and received his PhD in immunology from Vanderbilt, where he also serves on the faculty.

Julia Polk
As Chief Strategy Officer/CFO of IQuity, Ms. Polk works with the CEO to define and implement the growth and business strategy for the company. Responsible for strategic partnerships, legal, finance, business model development and capital strategy, she’s raised $4.4M for IQuity since its 2015 inception. Ms. Polk has spent her career as part of early stage management teams or representing the investors who fund them, ensuring these companies can scale in the investor-backed arena.

The mission of the Enabling Innovation Initiative is to facilitate dissemination of new knowledge through entrepreneurial pathways to advance basic medical knowledge and ultimately improve patient care. This is the inaugural seminar. More info at: https://my.vanderbilt.edu/ei2/
