Vanderbilt University's Turkey Toss

Friday, December 15, 2017,

  • Location: Langford Auditorium

It’s that time of the year when we ask our volunteers to extend their cheerful spirit in helping Employee Appreciations with our most exciting event of the year – The Turkey Toss (formerly Holiday gift Giveaway).  Many of you are veterans from previous years and we would appreciate your participation again this year.  We could not produce such an awesome event without you.  Friday, December 15th is the day and although it’s a long day, we will make it fun for everyone.  This is one of VU and VUMC signature faculty and staff events full of activities and entertainment!

The entire event will run from 6am-12midnight (that’s 18 hours of turkey tossing!) Friday, December 15th at Langford Auditorium.

We could really use your help at 2 hour intervals during our most critical times: 4-6pm, 6-8pm, 8-10pm, 10-12midnight.  However, please feel free to sign up for as many timeslots as you can.  We will have food & beverages available all day and the menu looks delicious once again!  Don’t forget to dress for the holidays.

Please remember to discuss your volunteer requests with your immediate supervisor.  And if you are an hourly employee, we just need to make sure that your volunteer hours are included in your normal work week as our budget does not have funding for overtime hours.

I know you are as excited as I am about the upcoming festivities for the Turkey Toss!

Please email me with your timeslot requests at employeeappreciation@vanderbilt.edu

and please choose from the positions below and I will email you back a confirmation:

Greeter – greets our guest and keeps the lines flowing (standing position)

Swiper – Swipes the employees ID badges and hands them a “gift ticket”

Ticket Taker– Takes the employees “gift ticket” and assist in distributing the gifts (standing position)

Once again, thank you so much for your help!
