Guest Speaker Albert Bender is an attorney of Indian Law, political activist, and journalist who spent several months participating in the Standing Rock protests. Locally, he protests the memorialization of Andrew Jackson. He is currently working with Mayor Megan Berry to encourage Nashville to change Columbus Day to Indigenous Peoples' Day.
There will be a Special Address by Dr. Daniel Usner, Professor of History at Vanderbilt to introduce the topic and it's cultural history.
