Brenda Butka practices pulmonary medicine at Vanderbilt. Her poems have appeared in a number of journals, including The Threepenny Review, JAMA, Chest, Annals of Internal Medicine, The Cortland Review, Slant and Poem and her chapbook “Altered Geography: Little Marrowbone,” written about the Bells Bend area of Nashville. She and her husband Tom John raised three daughters on Sulphur Creek Farm on the outskirts of Nashville and are part of a community organic farm project, Bells Bend Neighborhood Farms.
