- Location: Buttrick Hall 312
Come practice public speaking in a safe and fun environment! The MC of the meeting, the toastmaster, leads us through the evening’s events while educating and entertaining everyone with facts/stories that coincide with a theme that he/she has chosen. Themes can range from Waffle House to zoning issues and everywhere in-between. The first half of the meeting consists of prepared speeches followed by an impromptu speaking section where everyone has the opportunity to participate. The second half of the meeting is run by the general evaluator and the evaluation team. The evaluation team gives positive criticism and encouragement to both individuals and the group as a whole. They provide us with specific advice, so we can actively improve our public speaking skills. Meetings are on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month at 6pm in the 3rd floor of Buttrick hall. All in the Vanderbilt community and greater Nashville community are welcome to join!
