His arrival at Vanderbilt University in 2012 has helped promote the growth of interventional oncology across the clinical, research, and training missions of the medical center. Dr. Omary has been a co-investigator on several multi-institutional clinical trials for liver-directed therapies for hepatocellular and metastatic liver cancer. He has served as a principal or co-investigator on several training grants, including the NIH T32 Graduate Training Program for Magnetic Resonance Imaging and the NIH R25 Cancer Nanotechnology in Imaging and Radiotherapy. Dr. Omary is very proud of his trainees, who have collectively been awarded 35 national and 17 local research prizes.
